Dhruva Natchathiram (English: Pole Star) is an upcoming Indian Tamil thriller film directed and produced by Gautham Menon, under his studio Photon Kathaas. The film features Suriya in the lead role with Parthiepan, Simran and Sudhanshu Pandey also featuring as a part of an ensemble cast. A. R. Rahman composes the film's musical score, while Anthony and Marc Koninckx have been signed on as editor and cinematographer respectively. The film, which began production in May 2013, will release in early 2014.
The film's first look logo was officially released on April 30,[9] and the launch of the film was held in Chennai on 2 May 2013.[10] A few scenes featuring Suriya were also shot on the day, with the first schedule revealed to be beginning in June 2013.[11] The team's art director, Rajeevan, created sets resembling the Sonagachi red-light district of Kolkata in May 2013 as well as sets resembling government buildings.[12] The director has also revealed that the film will be shot internationally outside India, while portions will also be canned in Chennai, Delhi and Kargil.
